  1. A robot is any computer-controlled machine 
  2. that can be programmed to move or carry out 
  3. work. Robots are often used in industry to 
  4. transport materials or to perform repetitive 
  5. tasks. For instance, robotic arms, fixed to a 
  6. floor or workbench, may be used to paint 
  7. machine parts or assemble electronic 
  8. circuits. Other robots are designed to work 
  9. in situations that would be dangerous to 
  10. humans, eg: in defusing bombs or in space and 
  11. deep-sea exploration. Some robots are 
  12. equipped with sensors, such as touch 
  13. sensors and video cameras, and can make be 
  14. programmed to make simple decisions based on 
  15. the sensory data received.
